LATAM Sets Embraer E195-E2 Maintenance Bases
LATAM Airlines Brasil has designated airports in Curitiba, Brasília, and São Paulo/Guarulhos as maintenance bases for its new fleet of Embraer E195-E2
LATAM Airlines Brasil will base maintenance for its new Embraer E195-E2 fleet at airports in Curitiba, Brasília, and São Paulo/Guarulhos. The facilities are scheduled to be ready in October, ahead of the aircraft's entry into regular commercial service in November.
According to a company statement, the three airports will have a combined capacity to perform up to 49 weekly maintenance checks and will have 127 mechanics dedicated to the new model. The preparation involves hiring and training personnel, adapting infrastructure, and purchasing tools specific to the Embraer E195-E2.
"Incorporating a new aircraft model requires preparation that begins many months before the first flight," said Alexandre Peronti, Director of Maintenance for LATAM Airlines Brasil. He added that the company has been working since January on training, facility adaptation, and preparing specific tools and equipment to have a maintenance structure ready to support this new stage by November.
Maintenance Hub Capacities
The airport in Curitiba will function as the main hub for these preventive maintenance tasks alongside Guarulhos. Curitiba's facility can process three aircraft simultaneously overnight and complete up to 21 checks per week. LATAM is investing in a new mechanical task room and modernizing warehouses at this base, which began training workers in January and already services Airbus A320 family aircraft.
Guarulhos, LATAM's busiest airport in Brazil, will handle another 21 weekly interventions for the E195-E2. This airport already performs maintenance on Airbus A319, A320, A321, Boeing 767, Boeing 777, and Boeing 787 aircraft. Brasília will process up to seven inspections per week.

New Routes Enabled by the Fleet
The gradual arrival of the Embraer E195-E2s will enable LATAM to launch new flights. From Guarulhos, the airline will start services to Rondonópolis, Ji-Paraná, Cabo Frio, and Macaé. It will also increase seat capacity on routes to Palmas, Uberlândia, Cascavel, and Uberaba.
From Brasília, the airline will connect to Ribeirão Preto. Curitiba will add direct links to Londrina and Cuiabá, alongside increased operations to Rio de Janeiro/Galeão and Porto Alegre.
Supporting Airport Connectivity
The decentralization of maintenance tasks aligns with the connectivity volumes of the three airports. Guarulhos is a major hub for domestic flights, while Brasília and Curitiba are key operational centers. In the state of Paraná, the company maintains regular flights in the cities of Curitiba, Foz do Iguaçu, Londrina, Maringá, and Cascavel.
