Iberia opens Madrid pop-up with free flight
Iberia's fifth 'Espaço Iberia' pop-up in Madrid offers free aviation and cultural experiences until September 27.

Iberia has opened a free pop-up experience in Madrid, running until September 27. The event, called Espaço Iberia, features flight simulators, a preview of a new airport lounge, and cultural programming.
A key attraction is a full-scale mock-up of the new Iberia Emerald Lounge, set to open at Madrid-Barajas Airport's Terminal 4 on September 10. The preview space includes a 360-degree circular bar and samples of the lounge's food and drink service, including vermouth, coffee, snacks, and cocktails. Access to this specific experience is reserved for Iberia Club members from the Oro tier upwards and customers with equivalent oneworld alliance status.
Interactive aviation experiences
Visitors can explore the Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins of an Airbus A350. A flight simulator offers take-off and landing experiences with an instructor. The simulator's destination changes each week, starting with Monterrey, followed by London, Orlando, and Tokyo.
A zone dedicated to new routes uses artificial intelligence tools to shows Monterrey, Orlando, Fortaleza, Toronto, and Tokyo. Participants can generate a video simulating a trip or answer questions to find a city matching their profile, receiving a personalized guide to download.
The Iberia Club loyalty program features a digital pinball game explaining how to earn Avios points with partners and the difference between Avios and Elite Points. Daily, the top scorer wins a prize of 10,000 Avios.
Food, culture, and family activities
The gastronomic schedule includes tastings of wines and beers served onboard Iberia flights, workshops on beer-dispensing techniques, and presentations by chefs from DO&CO, the airline's main catering provider. Some activities focus on the cultures of Iberia's destinations, with tastings, traditional dances, and craft demonstrations.
A 'Talento a Bordo' (Talent Onboard) project hosts an exhibition on Iberia's work in fashion, music, photography, cinema, gastronomy, and sport. The event's speaker program includes chef Ugo Chan, filmmaker Rodrigo Sorogoyen, artist Suso33, designer Jaime Hayón, fashion brand Palomo Spain, singer Ángeles Toledano, and the band Los Planetas.
For children, 'Magic Sundays' offer activities inspired by Disney and Star Wars. Kids can learn to draw characters from Disney Adventure World and Disneyland Paris or learn movements inspired by Jedi training.
Tickets, discounts, and venue details
The pop-up has a service point for answering questions about flights and tickets. There is also an area to purchase tickets on Iberia's website with a 10% discount. This promotional code, provided by Iberia, can be used even after the event ends.
The 'Tienda Iberia' shop sells over 30 products inspired by the airline's visual identity and history, including aircraft models, t-shirts, socks, notebooks, posters, and keyrings.
