Avianca will install new private suites with doors in the Business Class cabins of its Boeing 787 fleet starting in 2027. The upgrades are designed for the airline's flights to Europe and New York, according to a presentation made by the carrier in Bogotá.

The overhaul, branded INSIGNIA, aims to raise comfort levels. It includes fully flat beds, 4K entertainment screens, Bluetooth connectivity, and Meridian noise-cancelling headphones.

Onboard Service and Amenities

A new in-flight menu has been developed by chefs Álvaro Clavijo and Rafael Buitrago. It draws inspiration from Latin American biodiversity. Passengers on outbound flights from Bogotá and Medellín to Europe will have access to 'Home Burgers' options. Return flights will feature items from Castello Monte Vibiano.

The premium service extends to amenity kits and sleepwear. Kits developed with Mola Sasa will contain products from Loto del Sur. Passengers will also receive pajamas and slippers from the brand Maaji.

Executive Vision and Crew Training

Adrián Neuhauser, CEO of parent company Grupo Abra, linked the changes to a broader commitment. "In Avianca and Gol we have the commitment to offer a great experience," Neuhauser said. "INSIGNIA reflects that vision, seeking to exceed the expectations of our most demanding customers, on every flight and in every detail."

Gabriel Oliva, President of Avianca, described the initiatives as part of continuous work to transform the customer travel experience. He stated they reflect a bet on a differentiated, excellent, and more personalized service with consistent standards across the network.

More than 850 cabin crew members have participated in a specialist Business Class training program. It focuses on hospitality and etiquette.

Ground Experience and Lounge Upgrades

The improvements are not limited to the aircraft cabin. They encompass preferential attention at an exclusive check-in counter in Bogotá and access to VIP lounges.

A key ground component is the renovation of the Gold International Lounge at El Salvador International Airport. Its new design will be inspired by local volcanoes and will feature a regional gastronomic offering. This upgrade is part of the strategic renewal of Avianca's lounge network to match the new onboard premium standard.
