Emirates to serve Dom Pérignon 2017, English
Emirates is overhauling its in-flight champagne and wine selection across all cabins, with new vintages rolling out through 2026.
Emirates will renew its selection of onboard champagnes and wines across all travel classes over the coming months, with the full rollout completed by 2026. The new list includes rare vintages acquired years in advance and matured by the airline itself.
Highlights include Dom Pérignon Vintage 2017 and Château Mouton Rothschild 2003. The carrier is also introducing its first English sparkling wine. The airline applies strict criteria to select wines that maintain their characteristics at altitude, assessing fruit profile, acidity, tannin levels, oak influence, and maturity.
First Class: Wine world icons
By the end of this year, Emirates will introduce Dom Pérignon Vintage 2017 in First Class across its network. The champagne, born from a year of contrasts in the region, offers aromas of jasmine and crystallized citrus, balancing richness and freshness.
On African routes, the cabin already offers Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2015 from Bouchard Père & Fils. This Burgundy Chardonnay presents notes of white peach, soft spices, and toasted touches. For flights to East Asia, passengers can try the Chilean Seña 2016, a reference for Cabernet Sauvignon blends.
From late September, routes to Australasia will serve Penfolds RWT Shiraz 2015. In October, the airline will begin serving Château Mouton Rothschild 2003 on UK routes. Selected routes will offer the South African Vilafonté Series C 2016 from December.
Business and Premium Economy updates
Currently available on US routes, Business Class features La Dame de Montrose 2014. From late September, passengers traveling to East Asia can taste Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2024 from Domaine des Sénéchaux.
In Premium Economy, October will see the inclusion of La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2014 from Bordeaux. September introduces Chablis Premier Cru Jean-Marc Brocard 2024. October also marks the entry of Wiston Estate Brut NV, the first English sparkling wine served by Emirates, exclusive to UK routes.
The Chandon 2021 remains a global exclusive for the cabin. Produced in Australia's Yarra Valley, it matures for four years.
Economy Class selections
The global Economy Class network will now feature Domaine de la Baume Tautavel 2023, a Grenache-Syrah from southern France. From October, Emirates will introduce Château Pech-Latt Corbières 2024.
For white wines, the Cuvée Sabourin Picpoul de Pinet 2024 offers lemon and subtle saline notes. Completing the new selection is Journey’s End Weather Station Sauvignon Blanc 2025 from South Africa.
Investment and sourcing
Since 2006, Emirates has invested more than $1 billion in its wine catalog. It built a cellar in France that currently houses about five million bottles. Much of the stock is purchased years in advance and matured until it reaches the ideal point for consumption. Purchases often occur in small lots with limited distribution, giving passengers access to rare vintages seldom found on the traditional market.
Wines destined for Business Class undergo a minimum aging of eight to ten years. Those selected for First Class mature for 12 to 15 years.
