## KLM Introduces New In-Flight Service for European Flights KLM is set to introduce a new in-flight service called Grand Café KLM on European flights starting from October 2026. The new service aims to provide passengers with more food and beverage options during their journey, reflecting the preferences of European travelers. ## How Grand Café KLM Will Work Passengers will be able to pre-order certain meals before their flight, such as poke bowl and Caesar salad. During the flight, they will also be able to purchase other food items from the menu, including salmon wrap and yogurt with fruits and nuts. Despite the introduction of a paid menu, KLM will continue to offer some items for free, including coffee, tea, water, orange juice, and stroopwafel, a traditional Dutch cookie filled with caramel. According to Bas Gerressen, KLM's vice-president of In-Flight Services, the new service aims to provide passengers with more choice, flexibility, and an offer that better reflects a wide range of preferences and needs. ## Testing and Implementation Before confirming the implementation of Grand Café KLM, KLM conducted different stages of testing on some routes. The tests involved evaluating the variety of products offered and the operational processes necessary for the new service to function. The introduction of Grand Café KLM is part of KLM's investments in passenger experience on its European network. In recent years, the airline has incorporated 16 Airbus A321neo and 25 Embraer E195-E2 into its fleet, equipped with modern seats, USB ports, and larger baggage compartments. Additionally, KLM has made Wi-Fi available for free on European flights, expanding its services to passengers on short and medium-haul routes.
